Hitler's secret cognac and champagne stash found beneath German restaurant

A famous German restaurant has found a secret stash of luxury liquor that belonged to Adolf Hitler.
The Saxony restaurant uncovered cognac and champagne in its cellars stored deep underground to protect it from Allied air raids in Berlin.
Owner Silvio Stelzer discovered the pricey find in cellars under the gardens of his restaurant at a historic villa on the grounds of the Moritzburg Water Palace in Saxony.
Although Hitler rarely drank, it is thought the booze was used for entertaining.
Mr Stelzer claims records also show the Nazi dictator's staff sent cheese, salami, chocolate and cigarettes to be stored in the cellars at a time when the German population was starving due to wartime food shortages.
Workmen stumbled across the incredible find while renovating the garden grounds.

Mr Stelzer told German newspaper Bild: "At the end of 1944 Adolf Hitler had his household food and drink stores moved to my cellar by his steward Kannegiesser, as they were not safe because of air raids on Berlin.
"Nothing remained of the food and consumables. After May 8, 1945, Russian troops looted everything.
"What will become of them is unclear."
In the US, Hitler's lover's knickers have also allegedly gone on sale, reports the Telegraph.
Eva Braun's salmon-coloured underwear embroidered with the initials EB are on sale for $7,500.
Last year, best-selling author Marting Amis claimed Adolf Hitler probably had sex with his mistress without touching her or taking his clothes off.
Amis believes the Nazi leader was asexual and "so fanatical about cleanliness" he kept Eva at arm's length.
Amis, 65, told fans at the Cheltenham Literature Festival that the truth about Hitler's sexuality remains a "black hole".
