South Africa court issues Nkandla deadline

South Africa's Constitutional Court has given two of the country's opposition parties and the public protector until the end of the day to say if they accept President Jacob Zuma's offer to repay some of the money spent on improvements to his rural home in Nkandla, KwaZulu-Natal province.
In 2014, a report by the public protector said Mr Zuma had "benefited unduly" from the upgrades.
Mr Zuma said the auditor-general and finance minister should determine how much he should repay to end the dispute.
The issue has been taken to the constitutional court by the opposition parties the Economic Freedom Fighters and the Democratic Alliance, and also the Public Protector Thuli Madonsela.

But it looks like they will not be responding positively - the EFF and Ms Madonsela have already said they want the issue discussed in court - and the case will go ahead next week.
